Attention Caitlin DiMotta…
Knowing the science makes it all the more enchanting.

On Sunday, I took part in a photography course with Manchester Photographic. While the course itself was aimed directly at beginners, I signed on in the hope that it would help me build up confidence in using my camera outside.

Well, my February Challenge project officially died after only 5 days.
It wasn’t a complete failure though, as it helped accomplish what I originally hoped it would; I once again became comfortable with my camera. It also served to highlight a few things, like my desire to get outdoors and expand my range of photography styles, as well as my growing apathy towards Macro shots (at least when it comes to being indoors).

Today’s photo is a result of constant failure. I’d originally planned to capture something outside, but found that most of my wide angle shots were slightly out of focus (I have trouble finding something to focus on properly in the tiny viewfinder).
Then I tried to capture something using the Fisheye adaptor for my kit lens, with the same results.
I guess I may have to try relying on the auto focus in those situations, though that almost feels like admitting defeat.
Anyway… Go out and read The Ultimates, it’s a really interesting take on The Avengers universe.

Glasses, one of the main reasons I reluctantly put my camera down 3 years ago. I’m practically blind without them now, at least when it comes to the finer details, and it’s only going to get worse over time.
Amazing how something so simple can correct the problem.

I’ve been buried under a mountain of work today, and have barely had the chance to look out the window. I’d almost missed taking a picture for today, so had to act fast to take this quick shot.
This is my latest game purchase, and if I’m lucky I might actually get to play it at some point this weekend.
Once again captured using my Lightscoop, while experimenting with settings other than those recommended in the manual.

This is my cat, Blinx. As it’s his 3rd birthday (which apparently makes him around 28 in cat years o_0), I decided to get a quick capture using my new Lightscoop. This is the first time I’ve used it, and I quite impressed with the results.
Clearly Blinx is bored with me & my camera, or laughing at me… probably laughing, an evil laugh that will haunt my nightmares.
